The Quebec immigration selection system for Quebec Skilled Workers is mainly designed to select applicants who are likely to become economically established upon Quebec immigration.
An entirely different system assesses skilled Worker or Professional applicants who intend or plan to reside in Montreal or another city or region within the province of Quebec. This system is completely different from that of applicants who wish to settle elsewhere in Canada. The government of Quebec does the process, and it calls with program name 'Regular Skilled Worker Program,' otherwise known as the Quebec Skilled Worker Program (QSWP).
Applicants who are successful under the Program of Regular Skilled Worker have issued a Quebec Selection Certificate which is then followed by a Canadian Permanent Resident (Immigration) Visa.
A single or unmarried applicant must score at least 50 points based on this system, while an applicant with a spouse or common-law partner must score at least 59 points.
