A NZ General Visitor Visa is a type of visa that allows individuals from foreign countries to travel and stay in New Zealand for a specified period to visit friends or family or for other short-term non-working purposes. The duration of the visa depends on the applicant's country of residence and specific circumstances.

Eligibility Requirements for New Zealand General Visitor Visa

The following are all the requirements for this visa:  

  • Proof of identification: must provide a passport or certification of identity (if the passport is unavailable) and photographs.
  • Proof of good health: Must submit proof of good health via a medical certificate (MCC), chest x-ray, or both.
  • Proof of good character: Must submit police certificates (PCC) as proof of good character.
  • Proof of a genuine visit: The purpose of the visit must be genuine, and the visitor must depart the country after the visit. .
  • Include dependents: You can include your partner and children (up to the age of 19) in your application.
  • Proof of a relationship with your spouse, like marriage certificates, can be submitted.
  • Proof of a relationship with dependent children, like a birth certificate, can be submitted.
  • Dependents must also demonstrate their identity, good health, and character.
  • Proof of funds or sponsorship: Must demonstrate financial stability or have a sponsor.
  • Provide proof of funds for a month showing an amount of NZD $1,000 or NZD $400 (excluding accommodation).
  • Can include the following proof:
  • Stay/Accommodation,
  • Bank/card statements,
  • bank drafts or traveler's checks.
  • The applicant must be medically fit.
  • If you have a sponsor for funding in New Zealand, the sponsor must meet the eligibility criteria and must submit the following:
  • Pay slips .
  • Accommodation proof: rent or ownership
  • Bank statements
  • Employment Agreement .
  • Healthcare cost: You must pay the healthcare costs you will receive in New Zealand.
  • Onward Travel: Depart the country after your visit.
